This page shows the important information to accompany any outcome letters received following the Board of Examiners meetings for your School.
We understand that there is a large amount of terminology used by the University, which may be unfamiliar. You can find an explanation of all terms on Regulations and Definitions Applying to Progression for all Credit-Bearing Programmes.
View the full details on the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results: Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes.
In accordance with the Student Regulations, you may appeal against the decision of the Board of Examiners (Regulations Governing Academic Appeals by Students).
You must show you have grounds for the appeal (see Section A paragraph 4), and that your appeal is not against an exempt decision of the University (see Section A paragraph 5).
Before submitting an appeal, we would strongly recommend a discussion with your Personal Academic Tutor/Senior Tutor.
If you feel you have grounds for an appeal, the SUSU Advice Centre offers free and confidential advice.
If you wish to appeal, you must submit a Stage 1 Notice of Appeal Form within 10 working days of receiving your Board of Examiners Outcome Letter.
We will not accept appeals received outside of the timescales set out in the Regulations, unless you can demonstrate exceptional circumstances for the delay.
You should submit an explanation and any evidence of the delay with your appeal form. Your explanation should be relevant to the period from the published appeal deadline until the submission of the appeal.
View Student Guidance for Complaints and Appeals for further information.
If you need support in relation to the information in the Board of Examiners Outcome Letter or have any questions or concerns about your results, we recommend you speak with your Personal Academic Tutor or Senior Tutor.
You can find your Personal Academic Tutor using the guidance in the Student Hub Knowledge Base.
