Dr Euan McGonigle is a Lecturer in Statistics in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton. His research develops statistical methodology for nonstationary time series, with a particular focus on change point detection and locally stationary wavelet processes.

Euan’s current research focuses on developing flexible statistical methodology for nonstationary time series, with a particular emphasis on nonparametric change point detection and locally stationary wavelet processes. This includes methods that detect changes in the distribution of data without restrictive modelling assumptions, and his work is implemented in open-source R packages including CptNonPar and TrendLSW.
Euan teaches statistics at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He currently teaches MATH6191 Statistical Computing in R.
