Napoleon Xanthoulis
Co-Director, Law & Technology Centre
I’m a Lecturer at Southampton Law School, where my research dives into the exciting realm of artificial intelligence regulation and data governance, paving the way for a more responsible and trustworthy deployment of digital tools. As a co-director, I'm excited to unite experts from various fields such as law, politics, computer and data sciences, philosophy, and psychology. Together, we aim to tackle the intricate questions at the crossroads of Law and Technology. I'm driven by the belief that fostering an open dialogue among academics, policymakers, and business leaders is crucial for addressing the challenges and seizing the opportunities that new technologies present to societies around the globe today.

I'm an expert in competition law and antitrust. I have written extensively on the interface between competition law and intellectual property rights. I also have a strong interest in digital markets, innovation and AI. In a world where technology is centre stage, I strive in my role as Co-Director of the Research Centre for Law and Technology to explore and disseminate the newest research in the area in particular on AI with our successful seminar series 'Afternoon Tea Talks on the Law and AI.
