Overview
Becas Chile is one of the Chilean government’s main student funding schemes. It supports Chileans studying at postgraduate level overseas. It aims to contribute to Chile’s innovation and competitiveness.
This scholarship is available for postgraduate taught master's programmes and PhD study.
Becas Chile scholarship is not available for LLM or MBA programmes.

Eligibility
To get this scholarship you must:
- be an international student from Chile required to pay the oversees fees
- have an offer to study an eligible postgraduate taught programme or PhD study
You must return to Chile after your course finishes and stay in Santiago for:
- twice the duration of your studies abroad, if you’re a Santiago resident
- the same duration as your studies abroad, if you’re not a Santiago resident
Permanent residency
Permanent residency
We consider your permanent residency to be where you have lived for 3 or more years before the start of the course.
This does not include where you have been living solely for study purposes if it is different from your permanent place of residency.
