Commonwealth shared scholarships are for international postgraduate students from developing Commonwealth countries who may not otherwise be able to study in the United Kingdom. They are offered on specific courses.
You will get:
full cover of your tuition fees
return travel costs
a monthly stipend
an allowances package
costs for a mandatory tuberculosis test

Eligibility
To get this scholarship you must:
apply to study an eligible course
be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country
be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
be available to start your studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2026
achieve a first or upper second class (2:1) honours standard or have a second class degree (2:2) and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a master’s degree) by September 2026
not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country
be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
commit to return to your home country within one month of the end date of the scholarship
This scholarship is awarded in partnership with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and must be applied to through their website. You will be asked to create an account and will then fill out an online form.
You will need to complete your scholarship application by 9 December 2025, 4pm (UK time). You don't need to apply for a course before this deadline.
If your scholarship application is shortlisted, we'll contact you around the middle of February 2026 and invite you to apply for your chosen course using our online application form. You should meet all English language requirements for your course by the end of February 2026.
