Biography
Martin Toward is a Senior Consultant Engineer in ISVR Consulting, the consultancy arm of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton. He has expertise in the measurement, prediction and mitigation of railway noise and vibration. Previously he was employed in the Human Factors Research Unit of the ISVR as a Senior Researcher. He has worked on UK and European research projects as well as a wide range of long- and short-term consultancy projects. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. He represents the UK interests on the European Railway Acoustics Committee (CEN WG03/TC 256).
