About
Andrea Cammarano is Professor of Space Engineering and Head of the Astronautics Research Group at the University of Southampton. He leads interdisciplinary research programmes in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), the UK Space Agency (UKSA), industry and international partners, contributing to the development of future space technologies and exploration capabilities.
His research combines nonlinear dynamics, structural dynamics and advanced design methods to develop innovative solutions for spacecraft structures, planetary exploration, vibration control, compliant mechanisms and bio-inspired aerospace systems.
Professor Cammarano is a member of the UK Space Agency's Space Exploration Advisory Committee (SEAC), which provides independent expert advice on the UK's robotic and human space exploration programmes and participation in international exploration initiatives.
