Dr Rashad Fatayer is a Research Fellow in the Integrated Photonics Devices Group at the University of Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Centre. He combines optical sensing and machine learning to develop rapid, non-invasive approaches to clinical diagnosis and treatment monitoring. He completed his PhD at Southampton in collaboration with the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), investigating cancer biomarkers, and is a co-inventor on an international patent application arising from this work. His current projects span point-of-care therapeutic drug monitoring and endometriosis diagnostics, with input from intensive care and microbiology consultants.
