About
My research is focused on understanding how experiences that disrupt brain development and function shape behaviour and mental health across the lifespan. I am particularly interested in how early-life adversity and brain injury interact with developmental processes, and why individuals exposed to similar experiences can follow very different developmental and clinical pathways.
A major focus of my current and future research is mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), particularly how injury during sensitive periods of brain development may influence cognitive, behavioural, and mental health outcomes in young people, and how these effects may unfold across the lifespan. I am also interested in childhood maltreatment and other forms of adversity as factors that may shape brain development and resilience to later challenges. I am interested in bringing these perspectives together to understand how developmental history and brain injury shape individual trajectories across the lifespan.
