R. J. Mitchell wind tunnel
The R. J. Mitchell wind tunnel is the largest of our wind tunnels. It is ideal for vehicle aerodynamic work and performance sport testing.

Aerodynamics (7x5) wind tunnel
The aerodynamics (7x5) wind tunnel is regularly used by undergraduates, researchers and commercial clients to undertake a wide variety of tests across numerous industries.

Boundary layer wind tunnel
The boundary layer wind tunnel is used to investigate fundamental flow conditions as well as scale model investigations involving models of urban landscapes, wind turbine arrays and various other aerodynamic systems.

Anechoic wind tunnel
It is an acoustic tunnel capable of testing up to velocities of 80 m/s and can be used in aerodynamic and acoustic tests across numerous industries.

Recirculating water tunnel
The tunnel is perfect for optical techniques where seeding particles can be tracked by a variety of laser and camera techniques to visualise the flow in 3D.

$FoRMS Lab Matched Refractive Index Facility$
Refractive Index Matched facility (FoRMS lab)
The FoRMS lab allows optical measurements with virtually no distortion due to the matching of the refractive index of both the material that the facility is made from and the fluid within it.
