What is UK university Clearing?

Clearing is a way to apply for a University course that still has spaces available if you don’t have an offer or want to change your choice. Whether you're unsure about results day, rethinking your course, or applying to study in the UK for the first time, Clearing puts you in control.

Ready when you are

If you have your results, you can now apply for one of our undergraduate courses in Clearing by:

  1. exploring our list of courses in Clearing
  2. selecting the course you're interested in
  3. completing our short application form

On our Clearing application form, international applicants are required to provide details of their current level of English language proficiency, including the:

  • test taken
  • date the test was taken
  • unique test reference number

Once you've applied, we'll let you know if we can make you an offer and tell you what to do next.

We are not able to discuss your application status or grades with you from 6pm, UK time on Monday 28 July 2025 until 8am, UK time on Thursday 14 August 2025. This is due to the UCAS results embargo.
