I am a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Academic Centre for International Students (ACIS) in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at the University of Southampton, and Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA). I have over 20 years’ experience in English for Academic Purposes, international student learning, and academic development. I am currently seconded to the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) as Deputy Programme Lead for the University’s Professional Recognition of Educator Practice (PREP). I oversee experiential Fellowship recognition (D1–D4), lead assessor and mentor development, and support institution‑wide implementation of PSF 2023. I a highly experienced in programme leadership, reflective practice, curriculum and assessment design, and support staff and student success across diverse disciplines. I am committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and supporting staff development through collaborative scholarship and engaged pedagogy.
I graduated from the University of Southampton with BA Hons in German with Linguistic and Language Studies, during which time I spent a year in Upper Austria teaching English at a school. I then completed a TESOL certificate and went on to teach in a language school for 2 years. In 2004, I graduated from the University of Southampton with MA in English Language Teaching. In 2019 I was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (now the Advanced HE) and in 2021 I was nominated for a Vice-Chancellor's Award as part of the Pre-sessional Team in the Teaching Innovation category. I am also a mentor on the University Mentoring Programme.
