Ms Wendy Jones is a Senior Teaching Fellow in English for Academic Purposes and Senior Tutor in the Academic Centre for International Students.
Wendy currently teaches and leads on a variety of modules using technology-enhanced learning (including English for Study Year Abroad, English Language Stages and English for Academic Purposes modules) which support international undergraduate and postgraduate students from a variety of departments and faculties throughout the university. She has also been an English for Engineering online tutor on the Harbin project teaching students online in China ( a joint education initiative with the University of Southampton and Harbin Engineering University in China). In addition to this, she coordinates and delivers English for Specific Academic Purposes support for international Law students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is also involved in the management of progressive pre-sessional programmes, which use technology-enhanced learning, to help international students prepare for successful transition to undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes at the university.
Wendy has 30 years of experience of managing, designing and teaching language courses to a wide range of nationalities whilst based in the UK and Europe. Since joining the university in 2005, Wendy has contributed to a number of pre-sessional and in-sessional programmes, in addition to teaching and leading English Language Stage modules and a variety of English for Academic Purposes modules that support international students across the university.
