Rashad Fatayer is a PhD researcher at the Optoelectronics Research Centre in the Integrated Photonics Devices Group. With a Master’s in Physics, he specializes in combining evanescent wave spectroscopy with machine learning to develop non-invasive, cost-effective technologies for cancer diagnostics. Rashad has filed a patent in DNA analysis technologies and collaborates with the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) London to translate his work into clinical practice. He is at the forefront of integrating machine learning with spectroscopy to create scalable alternatives to conventional diagnostic methods, supporting the advancement of precision medicine through earlier detection and improved monitoring of disease.
