Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- The skills required to ensure person-centred, sensitive and inclusive occupational therapy practice.
- The application of a range of personal, professional and occupational therapy-specific skills to promote high quality professional practice.
- The interconnectedness of race, gender, class, sexuality, ability and trauma shape and how it shapes an individuals' experiences and opportunities.
Transferable and Generic Skills
Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Compare and contrast a range of different communication styles for use in professional settings.
- Apply therapeutic principles and principles of learning theory to occupational therapy practice.
- Critically reflect on own professional behaviour and identify areas for development.

- Examine how interactions between local societal factors and cultural contexts influences your occupational therapy practice.
