About
My academic interests sit somewhere roughly between media and cultural studies, continental philosophy, and intellectual history, concerned with digital cultures, critical theories and discourses, and the civic role of the humanities. Across these broad and varied areas, I focus particularly on the cultivation of audiences, identities, and public personae, the shifting meanings and valences of philosophical concepts across historical and cultural contexts, and the ethical/aesthetic practices and technologies of selfhood by which individuals and communities fashion themselves and make sense of their position in the world.
My most recent monograph is Speaking Philosophically: Communication at the Limits of Discursive Reason (London: Bloomsbury, 2023).
